ARTIEM has been collaborating with Camí de Cavalls 360º and its race for years. This year, moving forward in our commitment, we wanted to become the event’s main sponsor. Because our love and commitment to our island and the people of Menorca, sport and a healthy life is at our core.

This eighth edition, packed full of surprises, will make the most of its three-staged format, on foot or MTB around Menorca to celebrate ARTIEM becoming the event’s main sponsor! Together with Fundació Foment del Turisme de Menorca and the Agència d’Estratègia Turística de les Illes Balears.

In a race as important as this one for the island and sports fans, we are moved by our desire to protect Menorca’s heritage and culture as well as sustainable tourism on the island. We are committed to providing an all-year round offer, particularly promoting autumn, winter and spring as ideal times to enjoy a holiday here.

Sports and nature are brought together in the ARTIEM Epic Camí de Cavalls 360º Race.

Sports and nature are made for each other. As a result of this perfect combination, special sports events are organised, such as the ARTIEM Epic Camí de Cavalls 360º Race, a staged race with three different disciplines and which competitors can enter individually or in pairs.  

The participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a competition taking place in the heart of nature and cross protected spaces such as the S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park and completely unspoilt coves over a 100-kilometre route.

A special connection with the surroundings, the bond with your teammate, solidarity among the participants, hospitality and support from the locals, making an effort, self-improvement...

A race full of new features

As a new feature this year, the ARTIEM Epic Camí de Cavalls 360º Race will set up its base camp in the ARTIEM Audax de Cala Galdana hotel. This will be the event’s nerve centre and where the programme’s main acts will take place, from the distribution of the race bibs to the awarding of the prizes and the post-race party.

Also, as we want your experience to be more epic than ever, at ARTIEM Audax in Cala Galdana we make every effort to ensure that all the services revolve around the race, to make sure that your race and stay is an unforgettable experience. Transport, luggage transfers, timetables and catering services adapted to the race, etc. Everything made available to our epic guests. As you know, it’s our mission: to inspire people to be happy.

As regards the race route, there is also an important new feature to mention. For the first time in the event’s history, participants in the TrailRun Epic 360º and MountainBike Epic 360º categories will face a route that covers the whole perimeter of the island, mainly along the historical Camí de Cavalls (Horse Trail) (GR 223), in the three stages of the race. As usual, participants of the Experience 360º category will cover a shorter route, which will still retain the essence of Camí de Cavalls and where they will take in some of the most emblematic landscapes of Menorca.

A mountain race, designed to be different and unique

The ARTIEM Epic Camí de Cavalls 360º is a mountain race, designed to be different and unique. When it was created back in 2012, the aim was to retain the spirit of an open format, multi-stage route around the island, including various disciplines. Moreover, great importance was given to the environment and the values of solidarity and camaraderie.

Combing these values together led to the idea that this competition could not take place anywhere but the Camí de Cavalls, the only trail that covers the entire perimeter of Menorca. This old horse trail runs mainly around the coast, crossing numerous coves; although it also sometimes goes inland passing through wetlands, cultivated areas, forests and along cliff tops.  It is a perfect trail to put yourself to the test whilst enjoying the landscapes offered by the island.

Protection of natural areas

A key aspect of the event involves showing respect for the environment. According to the race rules, the runners have to accept a Commitment to Good Environmental Practices document and take particular care not to leave any rubbish along the route, respecting the flora and the fauna and following the sign-posted routes.  They must use re-usable bottles and single-use cups will not be provided at the refreshment points.

These and other measures will be adopted by the organisation to protect the natural areas that the race crosses which are often fragile and with many of them being classed as protected areas. 

Although, in reality, the real winners will be those who are able to cross the finish line, enjoying this wonderful experience.

Registration for the race will take place over various registration periods, each one with a series of limited places.  The first period will open on 14 February and will offer major discounts for the first participants who register.
